This year's theme for PTM is "Taking Courage." Together, we will look at Jesus' words in John 16 when he said, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

In the midst of what seemed like a confusing analogous conversation for his disciples, Jesus makes this statement to give courage and encouragement to followers feeling the angst of uncertainty. We also can take courage from Jesus' words here. Likewise, as God's people and as member care providers, we are tasked with taking courage, peace and encouragement to those we minister to. We help provide hope and a non-anxious presence when it feels like there is no solid ground to stand on.

Pre-Conference Speaker Information

Chesed Dent TCK Care

Sending and supporting global workers well must include ministering to their children. In this pre-conference session, Chesed Dent, a speaker with TCK Training, will help you learn to minister directly to families and Third Culture Kids, as well as how to walk alongside sending agencies, churches, and member caregivers as they minister to TCKs. Pulling from her training and experience, both as a TCK and as a caregiver of TCKs, Chesed will lay out a foundation of care that both celebrates the TCK lifestyle and works to prevent TCKs from feeling like a backseat to their parents' work and ministry.

Dave & Trish Holabeck Whole Family Debriefing

Come join us for an enriching time as we experientially dive into the joys and challenges of whole family debriefing! This training is designed for individuals who already have a foundational understanding of what debriefing is. We will be focusing specifically on the concepts and tools involved when debriefing a family together as a whole. Attendees can expect to participate in hands-on activities, grow in basic knowledge of family systems, and engage in times of personal self-reflection. Our desire is that attendees will come away feeling encouraged and more equipped to sit well with families as they navigate the unique challenges of cross-cultural living and ministry.
